The 163', $38.5M James Bond Inspired Casino Royale Makes Waves as the Queen of
the 2009 Yacht & Brokerage Show

Sleek, chic and dressed to the nines, just like Bond himself, this year’s Yacht & Brokerage Show “Queen” is the breathtaking 163' Casino Royale by Christensen Yachts.  With James Bond themed appointments throughout, this $38.5 Million floating palace is unlike any other yacht on the water.  Her “Royale” Highness will be gracing the Indian Creek Waterway on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach from February 12-16, 2009.

007 Galore
Casino Royal roomFrom the moment you step aboard this grand yacht, there is no doubt that you have stepped onto a Bond-inspired masterpiece.  Yacht enthusiast and owner John Staluppi has owned and created a line of James Bond-themed yachts with Christensen Yachts, and Casino Royale is the largest and most “themed” yet.  In this somewhat conservative industry, you won’t find many other yachts featuring frosted-glass panels etched with the silhouettes of sexy bond girls lit by LED lights on the central staircase.  There is even a handcrafted marble roulette wheel set into the deck of the main salon, made by master craftsman Jeff Homchick at Christensen’s private marble shop.  There are marble tables decorated with card suits on the skydeck and even a figurine of Vesper Lynd, the heroine from the 2006 film of the same name, atop the divide between living areas.

On Her Majesty’s Deck
A true standout on the water, Casino Royale is unlike any other yacht built by Christensen, with vertical wraparound windows in her pilothouse and high bulwarks carried aft to nearly amidships where they blend into the deckhouse sides.  An array of elliptical ports in her hull sides makes herlong, low and poised for action.  Her top deck showcases an elegant sky lounge – a party room to be exact. The onyx-topped bar is illuminated from within the stonework, making it a perfect spot to enjoy that vodka martini – shaken or stirred.  The lounge also has a custom-designed entertainment center and a huge cinema display – no doubt for playing any one of 007’s pulse-racing movies.

Casino Royal foyerFor Their Eyes Only
Those lucky enough to make it inside Casino Royale will find it soft and inviting. Though still richly ornate, it remains tasteful and chic thanks to a collaboration between interior designers Carol Williams & Associates and John’s wife Jeanette, who worked hand-in-hand to create the gorgeous décor.

First and foremost was the optimal use of her 6,900 square feet of interior space.  Every piece or furniture and decorative accent was placed with a purpose.  Sapelle Mahogany and custom marble and granite are prevalent in every room from the salon to the galley and even the heads.

On the main deck, the owner’s stateroom, accessible through a study that is manly in its décor with a dark, leather-topped mahogany desk and cream-colored leather office chair.  The master suite includes a private bath with marble wainscoting and an extra-large double-bed featuring a mirrored deck head above – a must for any James Bond fan.

Below, the guest cabins are equally well-appointed and more spacious than the standard on most yachts of this size. Forward are two twin cabins; astern of them two suites with king-size bunks and further aft is a stunning full-beam VIP suite.  Add to her spectacular interior an armada of toys in her garage that includes two Nautica tenders (one 24 feet and the other 15 feet) and four personal watercraft, she’ll be ready for any kind of heart-pounding action.
