Cruisers packs a lot into its 41

Just when you thought today’s boats were maxed out on creature comforts, along comes the 41 Cantius from Cruisers Yachts. The Oconto, Wis., builder has designed its sport cruiser with a stern bar area — complete with stools — on the swim platform.

“The mission was to really pack a large-boat feeling into a 40-foot hull,” says Jon Viestenz, product manager for Cruisers’ parent company, KCS International.

With its fully enclosed, climate-controlled main deck living area, the Cantius can extend the boating season. “It’s the best of both worlds — fully heat and air-condition the space or open the patio doors and feel like you’re in an express boat,” Viestenz says.

The layout features two staterooms and two heads. The master stateroom has a queen-size island berth, and an adjoining head with a separate shower. The midship suite’s split-bunk layout converts to a queen-size berth and guests have a private wet head with a separate vanity area.

Other highlights include a standard 13.5-kW genset, a well-lit engine room with 5 feet of headroom and Volvo Penta IPS joystick helm control. Volvo Penta 500IPSG (twin 370-hp gas inboards) push the Cantius at 30 mph, where it gets around 1.6 mpg, Viestenz says. Price with this package is $725,000. The builder also offers IPS450 (330 hp) or IPS500 (370 hp) diesels, or Volvo Penta 370-hp diesels with dual-prop sterndrives.
