The 38th Annual St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show, the largest boat show on the Gulf Coast, is set to sail into the Duke Energy Center for the Arts Mahaffey Theater Yacht Basin and Albert Whitted Park in St. Petersburg, Fla., from Thursday, Dec. 3 through Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015.
The show will feature an impressive selection of power boats and sailboats in water and on land, including a 40,000-square-foot clearspan tent housing all types of marine gear. Show-goers will find hundreds of power boats and sailboats including family cruisers, runabouts, fishing boats, magnificent sailing yachts, personal watercraft and much more.
In addition to the large selection of exhibits at this year’s show, there will be an array of special events and fun and educational activities, including the youth fishing clinics presented by the non-profit Hook The Future where Captain Don Dingman will be providing the next generation of anglers the tips they need to land their next big catch. Along with the marine seminars, Discover Sailing's On-The-Water Clinics offer show guests the opportunity to get out on the water with experienced instructors certified by the American Sailing Association.
Other entertainment options includes enjoying a selection of marine-related books at the Author’s Corner, where guests will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with their favorite writers. The show’s floating cocktail lounge offers a relaxing, shaded place at the center of the boat show to cool off, grab a snack and enjoy live music and views of the show.
Couples who enjoy the luxurious lifestyle can stay aboard a 50-foot sailboat for one night during the show. Disembarking from the St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show, guests will enjoy a private sunset cruise for two overlooking the Tampa Bay skyline and a toast to the special event with their favorite wine or champagne and a basket full of gourmet treats.
There is plenty of onsite parking at municipal parking garages surrounding the show's grounds and convenient transportation options including the Downtown Looper Trolley, which stops on First Street near the Mahaffey Theater. Military personnel get free admission with an ID, and Kids 15 and under are Free!
