Boater’s World Marine Center Presents The 26th Annual Suncoast Boat Show sponsored by Ft. Myers BoatClub

Change Your Latitude

A Party Of Boats On The Bay At The 26th Annual Suncoast Boat Show, April 17 - 20

SARASOTA, FL (April 9, 2008) --- What comes first – the boat or the destination? Whether you want to cruise around the state or just float to your favorite fishing spot, the first step is to find the perfect boat.  Get out this Spring and find the vessel to fit your needs at the 26th Annual Suncoast Boat Show (Ken Thompson Park / City Island,) from April 17-20, 2008, where the opportunity to change your latitude is only a purchase away! There is a boat for every budget. Here is a sample of the over 300 boats to choose from, both on land and in the bay, at this year’s show:

Master Craft CSX 365 – Master Craft
At 26’5”, the CSX 265 does what no other big boat offers - true customizable multi-functionality.  Steeped deep in the genes of MasterCraft, the CSX 265 is a first class towboat, able to pull wakeboarders, wakesurfers and tubers with its infamous wakes and the industry’s only twin V-8 Direct Drive engines that offer up to 800 total horsepower.  However this completely new, modified deep vee hull, while great for towing, is also meant to hit the big waters.  Of course the 265 will do fine on intercoastal waterways or lakes but it was designed to give a smooth cruise on even the choppiest of seas.  Exhibitor: Bay Area Water Sports; Location: Land 504

32 Legacy Legacy Yachts
The traditional, downeast-style, 32’ cruiser is designed by Mark Ellis.  The layout is a bridgedeck that’s just waiting to host friends and family with two long settees and room to spare.  The ride is smooth and stable with the benefits of a deep vee and the sea keeping ability that comes with a keel and broad chines aft.  Powered by an efficient electronic Cummins diesel, the boat is capable of speeds up to 28 knots. Exhibitor: Pier One Yacht Sales; Location: In-Water #352

23-Calypso Classic
Everything that you originally fell in love with in boating is available again to you in your new 23 CALYPSO CLASSIC. Born of the “beachable skiffs” used for decades in Trinidad and other Caribbean islands, CALYPSO CLASSIC brings you back to what you love…the sound of the water slapping the hull, interrupted only by the occasional crying seabird. The interaction with your boat, getting it “just right” for moment to moment sea conditions.  Navigating worry-free through once “too shallow’ coves to your perfect deserted beach. The Calypso classic is also environmental friendly; with a whisper quiet 4-stroke outboard she will sip only 3 gallons per hour at near 30mph! Exhibitor: Calypso Classic; Location: Land 303

3900 Tiara Sovran – Tiara Yachts
Re(de)fined Living.  The all-new Sovran features the innovative Volvo IPS joystick control for superior handling, noise and fume reduction, and fuel efficiency.  By also utilizing the space advantages of the IPS drive in a single stateroom layout, she has an open salon and a large head, including a full-frame door and stall shower. The extra space is also put to practical use in a step-down “theater” lounging area.  Open to the bright, spacious salon, and easy to enter, it's arranged in an exceptionally useable way, with two comfy sofas on either side (upholstered with French-stitched Ultraleather), a Majestic LCD TV solidly mounted in the aft bulkhead, and a Denon Surround Sound system nearby to add to your viewing pleasure.  The 3900 Sovran is a uniquely livable single-stateroom floor plan that’s ideal for cruising. Exhibitor: Galati Yachts; Location: In-Water #313

378 Vista – Four Winns Boats
Welcome Aboard. The 378 Vista is the flagship of Four Winns express cruisers. With a running surface designed by renowned naval architects - C. Raymond Hunt and Associates - and ease of operation courtesy of the available Volvo IPS with joystick control, you'll find everything to love about cruising is right at your fingertips. Both sleek and accommodating, the 378 is perfect for socializing.  The double-width adjustable helm area boasts ample seating, and the plush interior with three beautiful décor options and optional private stateroom will seal the deal.  The mid-cabin can be partitioned with privacy curtains to conceal sleeping quarters, and can also be easily converted from a generous sofa into a bed with the electric sofa-to-berth switch.  Exhibitor: Thunder Marine; Location: In-Water #707

29Z Outboard – MJM Yachts
Down(easter), And Out.  She may say she’s “29,” but she’s really more like “32” – when you extend the swim platform and bow roller of the 29z.. High-tech construction gives this MJM downeaster a design advantage in creating the ultimate 29 footer. It's lighter AND stronger. Built by Boston BoatWorks, using a prepreg, epoxy-Kevlar-Eglass laminate - vacuum-bagged and oven-cured, the lighter weight requires less horsepower. Additionally, the 29z has a low-drag, modified-V offshore planing hull instead of the traditional downeast keel/skeg configuration or deep-V. Reduced weight and drag mean reduce the power required to overcome resistance/drag. 32 knot top-end performance is thus achieved with only a 4 cylinder 260 hp diesel. An optional Bimini with side/aft enclosures provides shaded seating for coastal day trips, weather protection and a back sleeping porch.  Exhibitor: Gilman Yachts; Location: In-Water #116

48 Sundancer – Sea Ray
Let The Sunshine In.  The gorgeous curves and aerodynamic profile of the 48 Sundancer are sure to attract attention.  She is outfitted with a unique, electric windshield vent system that allows for an unbroken line from deck to roof, plus a sleek hardtop with two extra-large sunroof hatches allows an abundance of natural light to stream in. The interior is  inspiring with plush carpeting, luminous gold galley and head countertops, Brisa desert clay salon upholstery, light cherry wood finishes and galley flooring, and elegantly appointed staterooms. With several LCD TV’s, a Bose sound system, and surround sound audio upgrades, it won’t matter where your boat takes you – because you may never want to leave it. Exhibitor: Marine Max; Location: In-Water #535
